It has two basic components- Chinese herbal therapy and Acupuncture. It has evolved with the long history of Chinese civilization, and has been extensively used by people all over Asia to restore, maintain and enhance good health for thousands of years. 

Chinese medicine is distinct from western medicine. It places great emphasis on treating the human body as a whole rather than just the symptoms. Using entirely natural ingredients rather than synthetic drugs, it aims to strengthen or revive the body’s own defence system and restoring body’s internal balance so as to cure the symptoms. Because of this approach, side effects are non-existent. 

Herbwood is a Chinese Medicine clinic located at 6 the forum, Eastgate Center, Gloucester. The clinic has been in the Eastgate Centre since 1998. Over the years the Chinese medicine doctors at this clinic has professionally treated thousands cases of health problems and thus achieving a top reputation. Dr Chen has been running the clinic for the last 10 years.

Dr. Chen graduated in Chinese Medicine from a top tier University in China in 1982 after studying the subject for 5 years . She then obtained an MD Degree in Chinese Medicine and since then she has  practised Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Tui-na massage in a government surgery in Hunan Province of China. After 14 years practising Chinese Medicine she obtained the title of Vice-Director. 

 With 40 years of experience, Dr. Chen has successfully treated hundreds cases of illnesses. The vast majority of customers can testify to their satisfaction resulting from the treatments from Dr. Chen. 

Since 1997 Dr. Chen has been practising Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Tui-na massage in England.

Dr. Chen is also a registered Acupuncturist with Gloucester City Council and member of ACMP UK (A Association of Chinese Medicine Practitioners), which is recognised by various insurance companies.
